Jalapeño Tomato Relish (Waitrose) [By @SpectreUK]

This Jalapeño Tomato Relish was produced by French’s, in New Jersey, who have been around since 1904. They have searched for relish and sauce recipes across the USA. Each 100g serving is 107 calories, with 23.3g of sugar and 0.3g of fat. The serving suggestion on the front of the 320g squeezy plastic bottle was a nice big juicy looking hot dog, but the label also recommended trying this relish with sandwiches, burgers, cheese, and stir fries. There were no artificial colours, preservatives, or flavours. This relish was also suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Ingredients included; water, sugar, tomato, spirit vinegar, pickled gherkins, red and green peppers, onion, salt, yellow mustard seeds, and garlic. There was a decent spicy tomato and jalapeño odour on opening the relish bottle. I decided to try this relish with Red Leicester cheese on toast, which I believe is the tastiest cheese to have on toast. There was a lovely chilli heat which mixed flawlessly with the tomato and other spicy ingredients. This Jalapeño Tomato Relish went perfectly with cheese on toast. I just had to have big healthy blobs of red spicy relish on each piece, and the dollop of relish disappeared off the plate very quickly to be replaced by several other big dollops of relish during the course of the meal. This relish had a moreish pleasant heat from the jalapeños, not an uncomfortable burning, which made the spiced tomato and chilli relish all the more enjoyable. This relish is made to have large amounts each time you open the bottle and made me really relish (get it?) the cheese on toast. Next up to try with this Jalapeño Tomato relish will be hot dogs, then I’ll try burgers, and then.... ;-)
