A week or so ago I tried the
Ferrero Mini Eggs, and today I found the Ferrero Roche Golden Eggs, and I wasn’t sure what the differences were, but I was quite happy to try and find out. The first thing that hit me was the shape. Ferrero Mini Eggs are egg-shaped, and Ferrero Roche Golden Eggs, despite being called eggs, look basket-shaped. It isn’t even a basket with an egg in it; they are flat-bottomed and uneven on top like a flower basket. They are a weird shape.
These particular Ferrero Roche Golden Eggs are white chocolate, and the chocolate is quite thick, more so than on the mini eggs. The filling has a rich praline flavour with hazelnuts, which is nice with them. The white chocolate makes them super creamy, which is rather lovely. There is also a crispy texture in the filling, which I really liked. Egg-shaped or not, these are a fun Easter treat.
