Hershey’s Cookies and Cream Filled Crepes (Ocado) By @Cinabar

Now this was a strange thing to see on the new section of the online grocery shop. Here we have ready-made pancakes filled with a Hershey chocolate filling and I have to admit I was a bit excited and ordered a pack.

Gosh, these Hershey’s Cookies and Cream Filled Crepes have a lot of plastic around them which is great for keeping things fresh but less great for the environment. I also noticed the date on them was English style 19/11, so they aren’t a product imported from America.

I opened up one of the crepes and it looked like it needed heating. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a cold pancake. I checked the packet and there were no suggestions for timing of warming in the oven or microwave, so I just bit in. The texture is weird, it is a tightly wrapped thin pancake and the layers were there but not in a good way. The flavour of the filling was gorgeous and almost enough to compensate. There was a lovely creamy chocolate taste and plenty of cookie crumbs with a darker flavour and all of that was great. I very nearly loved these Hershey’s Cookies and Cream Filled Crepes, just not quite on the texture. There was a little voice shouting “the texture is wrong” and that voice, well, it just wouldn’t go away.
