Twix Crispy Rolls (Tesco) By @Cinabar

Twix Crispy Rolls

Spotted these new Twix Crispy Rolls in Tesco and couldn’t resist picking up a pack. They’re made by Mars and come with a lighter pitch, just 57kcal per stick, so they’re definitely aiming for the lower-calorie treat crowd.

Inside the wrapper are two slim rolls coated in milk chocolate. They look a bit dainty, but curiosity got the better of me and I snapped one open. The filling is pale, almost fondant-like, with no visible caramel layer. It turns out that’s by design, a gooey centre would have made the wafer soggy, and this is all about crunch.

And crunchy they are. The texture is lovely, light, crisp wafer that’s fun to bite into. The filling has a gentle caramel flavour, subtle but enough to remind you this is a Twix spin-off. It’s not quite the full Twix experience, no thick caramel chew, but it still ticks the box if you’re after that familiar taste in a more delicate form.

My only gripe? They’re gone far too quickly. A couple of bites and it’s all over. But for a sweet snack that won’t dent your daily calories too much, these do the job. A lighter Twix fix for when you're trying to be good,  or at least pretending to.

Twix Chocolate Spread (Iceland) By @Cinabar

Twix Chocolate Spread

Another day and another jar of spread. This one is hopefully a liquidised chocolate bar; here we have Twix Chocolate Spread. This sounds like a perfectly indulgent breakfast or energising afternoon snack to boost me for an afternoon of work. Sadly, I had the second option running today, so I needed a bit of sugar.

I put the toast on and spread this on it. The base flavour is chocolate and caramel, but there are little bits of biscuit pieces also mixed in. I’m never really sure about bits in spreads, but they did have a nice buttery shortbread taste. The sauce itself has a good chocolate and caramel taste; it is sweet and indulgent. It was a treat on toast and a nice version of a Twix bar; the flavour was quite well recreated.

I’m not sure what other chocolate bars are available as spreads, but I will keep an eye out for any more that I can find.

Candy Pop Popcorn Twix (Candy Mail) By @Cinabar

Candy Pop Popcorn Twix

The latest snack hybrid, Twix meets popcorn. I have had a few different varieties of popcorn from Candy Pop. They seem to have one of the most creative American companies for flavours. Here they have merged the chocolate bar Twix into their latest product. The bag even states “made with Twix candy pieces”, so I was looking forward to seeing how it worked out.

I poured some out of the bag and I could immediately see the chocolate and caramel drizzle generously zigzagging the popcorn. That is all I could see though. I couldn’t see the promised chopped Twix candy at all. The popcorn tasted amazing though, the milk chocolate and caramel were spot on and sweet and indulgent. The fluffy pieces of popcorn had a lovely texture, and the chocolate and caramel a delight to eat. The only criticism was that I couldn't get a biscuit taste or spot any biscuit pieces. Perhaps I got a bad bag that is missing it? The problem was that I would never have identified this as being specifically Twix popcorn, but what I did have was still a delight to eat.

Twix Ice Cream (Iceland) By @SpectreUK

Twix Ice Cream (Iceland)

I have recently developed a bad habit during most evenings. Well, it's not awful... it's just that I've become quite partial to little tubs of ice cream with my regular pudding. I usually have biscuits or a chocolate bar after a beer with my dinner or with a white hot chocolate drink. Counting my calories per day is a drag, but it keeps my weight down after all the exercise I do, and I find that I can often be a bit naughtier with my puddings.

Twix Ice Cream (Iceland)

My regular tubs of ice cream can be anything from around 200 calories, to 150 calories to the ideal 70 calorie tubs. I fit the amount of biscuits or whatever I eat with it around my calorie count. It sounds pretty laborious, but it's rewarding taste wise when I have my puddings after my main meal of the day.

Twix Ice Cream (Iceland)

I often have a Twix or two for my puddings. This Twix ice cream sounds like it would go rather well as an alternative or complement to my regular ice cream tubs. It's dairy ice cream with caramel, biscuit pieces in the centre, and with a cocoa coating. On opening the box of six, the smart wrappers inside looked a little like a regular Twix.

Twix Ice Cream (Iceland)

On biting into the first Twix ice cream I noticed that the covering of thin milk chocolate melts very quickly. It was also crumbly and snapped apart leaving cocoa coating bits. I'd recommend you eat these with a tissue close by. The inners are mainly a sweet caramel ice cream, with runny caramel on top, and with a multitude of crunchy crispy chocolate biscuit balls in the middle of the bar.

This Twix ice cream is very nice indeed. From the caramel and biscuit flavours it's definitely easily identifiable as a Twix. Although it's a little dangerous to eat, it's very tasty. I love the caramel flavours from the ice cream and runny topping inside the bar, and the crunchy chocolate biscuit texture. I'm looking forward to eating the rest of them, and mixing them in with my regular biscuity puddings.

Information on the box; Six in a box 34.2g each, at 123 Calories each. Please see for photograph for more information.

Twix Winter Spice (GB Gifts) By @SpectreUK

Twix Winter Spice

This limited edition Twix Winter Spice is an early warning that Christmas is on the way. It seems to have been a quick year somehow, even though much of it has been spent inside for many of us, and those that have ventured out will have colder blasts in the next few months. What better then to have a warming spiced chocolate and caramel biscuit bar to help with the wet and possibly icy weather?

This Twix Winter Spice has two bars which are fairly heavy on calories at 113 per stick, I guess possibly to help you bulk out for the coming months. I'm just glad that I do plenty of exercise indoors. I've been continuing with the rehabilitation of my knee whilst settling into my new job, just doing all of my exercises very early every morning. I have to go into work once or twice a week but can also fortunately work at home most of the time.

Twix Winter Spice has spices such cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, and cloves. Flavours such as those spices listed mixed with the usual sweet caramel and biscuity flavours of a Twix sound pretty mouthwatering to me. These two bars should be a warming treat for a wet and dreary day like today.

There was quite a spicy smell on opening the wrapper, which was predominantly of cinnamon and cardamom. Mmm… wow… on first taste those sweet winter spices that are often used in spicy chai teas sprang to the fore, especially the cinnamon and cardamom, and these were mixed well with the cloves, ginger and nutmeg, which made my mouth water even more with the added caramel and biscuity flavours after the spices. It was almost as if I wasn't eating a Twix at all, but some new hybrid winter chocolate biscuit extravaganza dunked over and over into a winter milky warming spicy chai tea.

Moreish to the extreme this Twix Winter Spice was impossible to put down whilst writing about it. It's so good I just wanted another and another, but I've got to watch those calories. I'm hoping Cinabar will get me some more of these at some point over the coming months. This Twix Winter Spice is an absolute must buy for Twix fans, and for chocolate biscuit fans, and anyone who loves those warming winter spices that you get in a good strong milky chai tea. Mmm… I need to eat another one, but I've run out of them… Doh!

Information on the packet; The 46g bar has 113 calories per stick, with 5.4g of fat, 11g of sugar, and 0.09g of salt. Please see photograph for the ingredients.

Twix Salted Caramel Xtra (@NLi10)

Twix Salted Caramel has been around for a while - in fact our resident Twixpert Spectre had a look at these when they first appeared.

Now these are showing up in a few more places - and in the proper big size too!

Although I did give half away to my partner to get a second opinion (a small price to pay)

And it's basically a salty Twix!  Well - it does seem a little like the salt is between the caramel and the biscuit rater than mixed in with the topping.  And it's enjoyable - but it's not quite as revolutionary as I'd hoped.

It did however give me an idea - if they can pop salt in between the two layers then what about other things?  Could we have lemon Twix or Blueberry Twix?  I'm guessing jam isn't a great idea but I'm sure some kind of magic flavour dust could get in here.

Other than the various choc toppings I don't think I've seen many alt-Twix and although I'd probably buy real Twix more, it'd be cool to have the Kit Kat treatment here too (but don't tell Spectre as I don't think he'd be a fan).

Twix Salted Caramel Fingers (Poundland) By @SpectreUK

Twix Salted Caramel Fingers

I don't know whether chocolate snacks flavoured with salted caramel went out of fashion for a while, or if Twix have just caught up? Being a snack food blogger I suppose I probably should know, but I'm pretty lazy and I don't keep on track with everything… I seem to spend much of my days exercising, revising for recertification for my profession at the end of this month, whilst trying to avoid political conversations in the sauna or catching the new terrible bug!

Anyway, Twix Salted Caramel Fingers… I do eat a lot of Twixs. I'm not sure on the plural of Twix. In truth I've not really thought about that either. There are generally two Twix fingers in a packet, and that's not referred to as Twixs, but there you go! Anyway, at just less than 100 calories the odd one or two from a multipack of nine packets of Twix(s) goes down rather well for an afternoon pick-me-up or a low calorie after dinner treat with a white hot chocolate. These Twix Salted Caramel Fingers are slightly more than 100 calories, but I think I can cope with the very slight increase.

Twix Salted Caramel Fingers

On opening the multipack of these Twix Salted Caramel Fingers I found that there are only one Twix finger per pack, rather than the original double ones I'm used to. I noticed through comparison that these salted caramel fingers are slightly longer, but still it doesn't explain how there can be far more calories in a slightly longer single finger than two original slightly shorter ones from a multipack.

On peeling back the wrapper I found that this salted caramel finger looks pretty much the same as the regular flavour. In fact exactly the same, as it is covered in milk chocolate, with the biscuity bit at the bottom and the caramel part at the top. However, on biting into the finger I noticed it was a little more crunchy than usual. The caramel seemed the same but I quickly noticed that there were flecks of salt mixed in with the caramel rather than the salted caramel I've tasted in other bars. These flecks had their own crunch and a few found themselves between my old teeth. I wasn't so keen on this, however Cinabar and her Mom liked these Twix Salted Caramel Fingers. I have to say I rather prefer the original Twix flavour to these flecks of salt, so I reckon I'll stick to what I know!

Information on the packet;
9 x Twix Salted Caramel Fingers at 23g per packet weighs in at 207g, with 113 calories per packet, 5.4g of fat, 11g of sugar, and 0.19g of salt. Please see photograph for the ingredients.

Twix Milkshake (Mars) By @SpectreUK

I haven't had a milkshake in a good long while. Mars Wrigley Confectionery was kind enough to send me their new Twix Milkshake. I often eat a Twix for my after dinner treat with my white hot chocolate drink instead of eating a cake or something else for dessert. It's the caramel, milk chocolate and biscuit combination that makes a good tasty pudding for me, whilst being washed down with my favourite hot chocolate drink. I remember an Eddie Izzard joke about late night petrol stations serving Twix through their security drawers to murderers! I'm not sure if there's a correlation there…

I decided to eat a Twix whilst washing it down with a Twix milkshake for a double whammy. After shaking well, on opening this Twix milkshake there was surprisingly more of a biscuit aroma from the mid brown liquid inside. There was also sweetness from the caramel, but I couldn't pick up on much milk chocolate in the smell. On taste there was a lot of biscuit in the initial flavour with the sweetness from the caramel close behind it, but the all round creamy milky flavour seemed to overshadow much of the milk chocolate. This left a more biscuit caramel creamy milkshake flavour to this Twix milkshake. It's definitely not a bad thing, as it was certainly very tasty, maybe it just needed a little more milk chocolate. It didn't taste the same as the Twix bar I was eating at the same time. I suppose that's why we have Twix bars and Twix milkshakes. Having said that though, the one washing down the other was a taste sensation, as they went ridiculously well together!

New Twix White Xtra (WH Smiths) By @SpectreUK

I often have a regular Twix for pudding after my dinner at night washed down with a black coffee. Tonight I have a Twix White Xtra washed down with my favourite white hot chocolate drink. It was kind of strange breaking into the packet to see white chocolate bars instead of milk chocolate covered bars. However, I like white chocolate just as much if often more than milk chocolate, so I couldn't help but look forward to tucking in.

It might sound a little odd to say, but this Twix White Xtra tasted completely different to the milk chocolate version. "Of course, it's white chocolate," you may be thinking. On biting in there was much more flavour from the biscuit than usual, with less sweetness from the caramel, even though there seemed to be the usual amount. In the milk chocolate version the caramel flavour stands out much more. The white chocolate coating had a creamy slightly milk powder flavour with a touch of vanilla for added sweetness. The bar tasted great though, especially coupled with sips from my piping hot white hot chocolate drink. I'd certainly have these again as an after dinner treat.

Information on the packet;
The 75g bar contains 188 calories per 35.5g stick, with 9.4g of fat, 18g of sugar, and 0.15g of salt. Please see photograph for ingredients.

Twix Soft Centres Biscuits (Sainsburys) By @Cinabar

Twix Soft Centres Biscuits

The packaging on these biscuits looks bright and fun, and as we are Twix fans here at Foodstuff Finds I couldn’t resist picking up a packet of these new Twix Soft Centres Biscuits. There are always regular Twix bars in our cupboard, but I was looking forward to trying these in a biscuit form. I say that, but aren’t Twix bars already in a biscuit form? They are sort of both chocolate bar and biscuit bar. These though are very much biscuits, as they are round and flat.

I opened up the pack and was immediately disappointed, the biscuits were well spaced out with plastic so there was both less than expected in terms of biscuits size and biscuit count. Oh well, I find the packaging on some products really does try and space things out, and this may makes people pick them up off the shelf but surely they realise once they get them home and open them the first thought is one of disappointment.
The biscuits weren’t that great in terms of taste either, there was nothing wrong with them, they just didn’t quite live up to the Twix hype. There wasn’t much chocolate, and the caramel filling was tasty, but somehow wasn’t strong enough in flavour. The biscuit base was fine and crunchy, they were okay to munch on over all just nothing special. My problem was because of the proportions and minimal chocolate flavour I didn’t associate them with Twix as much as I had expected too. In conclusion if I want something chocolatey with biscuit and Twix like flavour, I’ll have a Twix.

New Twix Top Biscuits (Poundland) By @Cinabar

I found this huge multipack of the new Twix Top bars in Poundland. That shop is becoming a favourite place for Foodstuff Finds, and this time I certainly felt like I’d struck gold! They are often one of the first places for new products or interesting import items, and of course always at the best prices.

When I got home and opened the box I was very pleased to see that these biscuits are all individually wrapped. Having 20 in the time they would stay fresh otherwise might prove a bit more difficult, being individually wrapped means I can even have them in my lunch box too. They don't feel to big, just right for a treat.
The biscuits are like a flattened out Twix, with more biscuit and less chocolate and as the coating is just on the top. There is sill a fair amount of caramel in their too, the biscuit has rolled edges to fit it in.

I gave one a taste test and was pleased that all the distinctive flavours of Twix were present. There is more biscuit, but the chocolate and caramel have such a good flavour that it all held together perfectly. The textures were good too, lots of crunchy biscuit, but plenty of gooey caramel. I loved these biscuits, and can’t wait to tackle the rest of the box. There are 20 bars, so it may take a while, but it's a challenge I’m willing to accept.

Twix Cappuccino (Poundland) By @Cinabar

I think that pound shops are a surprisingly good at supplying interesting snacks. Not only do they get a lot of new products quite early, they also have very affordable import goodies. I often keep my eyes open in there for new items, and that its where I found this Limited Edition Twix Cappuccino. As it was a bit warm the chocolate on my bar was a little smudge, so I didn’t get a decent photo of the insides, but it did look just like a regular twin bar of Twix, with the two sticks inside.
The aroma was very mild, chocolate wth a hint of some coffee to show it was a Limited Edition.
The flavour is where this bar succeeds though, the Cappuccino element worked magically.
The coffee flavour wasn’t too strong, but it was very much present and reminded me of coffee creams. Coffee and chocolate just work well together, and the more common place the matching of these flavours become, the happier I will be. I loved the addition of the milky coffee flavour to the Twix, and that combined with the crunchy biscuit, gooey caramel and milk chocolate and I was in heaven. This Twix Cappuccino bar with a coffee is the perfect afternoon pick me up.
I mentioned that these were in Poundland, well that is the other magic of the store, I got three of these for my one pound coin, I don’t think you can get better value than that.

Twix Bites (Morrisons) By @SpectreUK

I do like a Twix on the evening for pudding with a cup of black coffee to wash it down with, so these Twix Bites seemed like a good idea. They come in a re-sealable bag for several nights' snacks or for sharing. I'm a bit of a greedy fellow (you may have noticed)… well, actually a very greedy. I'm like a teddy bear in a chocolate shop. Sharing isn't a word I use very often, unless I don't like something… Then I can be very generous indeed. In fact Cinabar knows me of old and knows that if I try to offer someone a sweet or crisp then they will unlikely like it also.

I greedily tore open the packet to find a multitude of mini Twixs, which were about half an inch long, the thickness of a normal Twix, and packed into the tight space. It wouldn't have been much use taking a photo of the inside of the bag as they looked pretty much like the mini Twixs on the outside. Besides they didn't last long enough to get the camera out of the drawer. Each one tasted great. Crunchy biscuit, smooth caramel, and milk chocolatey. Pretty much like eating a normal Twix without the biting in half. A pretty tasty chocking hazard if you don't bite them at all though! I was just dropping one after another into my mouth, on my own, whilst watching TV, away from people who might like to share, and completely ignoring the 35g suggestion for a portion size. I finished the bag in record time before anyone could come in and take a photograph of them or heaven forbid try to eat one! Good stuff… Only the insane may share.

Information on the packet
140g bag with 173 calories per suggested 35g share, 8.3g of fat, 17.5g of sugar and 0.14g of salt. Ingredients in the photograph.

Twix On Toast? New Twix Spread (Morrisons) [By @Cinabar]

In the latest instalment of what can we spread on our toast, I found another new tub. This time it is Twix chocolate bar flavoured, complete with crunchy biscuit pieces. There is even a sweet reminder about the differences of the left and right hand side of a Twix bar on the lid, a nod to the current TV adverts (do you prefer the left or the right side).
As much as I like actual toast I am currently hooked on Giant Crumpets so I popped these into the toaster. The spread looked quite thick and had lots of biscuit bits mixed in, there seemed to be a very generous amount.

These spread nicely on the crumpet and although there were quite a few pieces of biscuit the spread still went on easily enough.
The taste test was good. The base flavour was a very sweet chocolate taste, on inspecting the jar this was because it contained the caramel and chocolate flavour in one. It tasted a bit like extra sweet chocolate, but the flavour was still smooth. I have a sweet tooth, so got on with this just fine. Spectre thought it needed a more defined caramel taste. I liked the biscuit bits as they added a crunch to the texture which felt nice. The flavour from the biscuit wasn’t too strong, but I guess you don’t want huge pieces spread on your toast. It was difficult to pick up that buttery shortbread like flavour though. On a blind taste test I’m no sure I would have guessed Twix bar from the flavour and texture.
I liked this spread, but I think they could have improved it by marbling a chocolate spread and a caramel spread together in the jar, all with biscuit pieces scattered throughout. Okay, that might be technically more difficult to manufacture, but that would capture the true heart of a Twix.

Twix Mix Dessert (Ocado) [By @Cinabar]

My sweet tooth means that I do like dessert after dinner, even if it is just a yoghurt. Of course if my yoghurt happens to have a chocolatey twist, so be it. I spotted this Twix dessert in the new section on the Ocado website, and added it to my basket. It is a yoghurt based dessert, but with a Twix theme, so I wasn’t expecting a rich chocolatey sauce inside the pack.
The packaging mentioned that there was however caramel sauce to mix in, but I couldn’t quite picture how that would work. The dessert is in a split pot format too, I assumed the pot to mix in would be liquid based with chocolate and biscuit bits? It sounded a bit messy. Once I peeled the lid off I spotted this was incorrect. That particular section just contained chocolate coated biscuit bits, which left the question as to where was the caramel was. The yoghurt part looked plain white. I gave a little stir and realised that he yoghurt was sitting on a layer of caramel and that this was to be mixed in, which I did, but lightly. I also added the chocolate biscuit bits from the twin pot part.

The dessert had a nice mix of textures, and certainly had a good hint of Twix about it, but it did stay firmly on the side of yoghurt with that being the main flavour. I liked the added chocolate and soft crunch from the biscuit, and the caramel added a nice sweetness to the over all flavour.
It isn’t quite a healthy yoghurt, but it isn’t as rich as some of the purely chocolate based desserts I’ve had in the past, so I think it had a nice balance and I’m looking forward to trying the Mars Mix variety also released.

Twix Mix (WH Smiths) [By @cinabar]

Whenever I wander into the WH Smiths on site at work, and search the chocolate section for new goodies there regularly seems to be some sort of new grab bag concoction. I’m not complaining, it’s just that I can remember back a few years ago when they barely existed as a chocolate choice and were the exception rather than the rule.
The new theme seems to be turning already existing chocolate products into bag editions, think Mars bars, Yorkies, Rocky’s etc.
Twix has joined in and created this easy sharing grab bag edition of the bar. As you’d expect from Twix there are two varieties of chocolate goodies in the bag, chocolate enrobed balls of biscuit and chocolate enrobed balls of caramel. I have to say I liked the fact you couldn’t really tell which was which, meaning you really did get a nice mix.
The biscuit bits had quite a good biscuit taste, crunchy and buttery and there was almost a hint of malt in the flavour. The caramel bits were a little bit stickier than I expected, but still pleasantly soft and sweet. The flavour was a sweet caramel, not buttery like some; it had more of a brown sugar edge to it. The chocolate coating was sweet and milky, and the same as you would find on the bar.
The chocolate balls were all quite small, and my favourite thing to do was to grab a few and munch on them together. They really did recreate the flavour of a Twix bar, but depending on what you picked it was sometimes heavier on the caramel or the biscuit. I liked that, it made each mouthful different and added to the moreish factor.
These are a nice addition to the range, and something I would buy again.

Twix Miniatures & Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocos [New UK Chocolate] [By @Cinabar]

As product development goes, these two items are a bit of sure thing. They are not made using a particularly risky Limited Edition recipe, but keep to a basic formula, repackaged and reshaped in a slightly different way. Having said that I really like both Dairy Milk and Twix, so shouldn’t really complain.

Twix Miniatures
When I wrote about KitKat Pop Chocs, somebody at work said to me that they really ought to make a Twix version. Clearly Mars where listening, as this have since appeared on the supermarket shelves.
The bag consists of miniature Twix bars, each individually wrapped and in a bag ideal for sharing. The ratio of caramel to biscuit is consistent and it does seem to be a Twix shrunk down and shortened. The chocolate is sweet as you would expect, the caramel is soft and the biscuit adds that golden flavour. The combination really does work, and Twix fans will absolutely love these. As much as I liked them too, I can’t help but wish Twix would try out a more innovative formula in the UK, something like the Pods they launched in Australia.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocos
Cadbury’s Dairy Milk is already available in many different sizes in the UK market, from small thin bars right up to 5kg bars! This is quite different though as it makes the chunks a lot easier to share, or indeed have a few and put the rest away for later. Unwrapping the tube I found the contents to look much like solid Rolos, each with the Cadbury’s “C” neatly moulded in to the top of each piece. I don’t really want to start reviewing Dairy Milk, but I think it is enough to say that I really enjoy the flavour finding it sweet, creamy and indulgent.
I munched on these while watching a film, and found them easy to pass around and enjoy. Again these are not the most inventive new product in terms of taste, but are certainly a winner for Cadbury’s fans and it is nice the see the chocolate in a new format.

Twix Fino [New UK Chocolate Bar]

I would like to start with a big thank you to Jim at Chocolate Mission for very kindly sending me this bar, and his review can be found here.

The new Twix is biscuit free. This is not controversial as some of the papers would have you think, they are not ditching biscuit in Twix bars. This new Twix Fino has no intentions of replacing the regular Twix it is just an addition to the range made with wafers instead.

I ripped open the wrapper, and immediately broke one of the Twix sticks in half to have a look at the new, biscuit free Twix Fino. I have to say I was a little disappointed by the profile of the chocolate, the wafer rolls space things out so that there is a substantial amount of air within the bar.

Still nothing ventured so I bit in. The chocolate is still plentiful and full of flavour, and the caramel adds the usual wonderful sweetness. Both ingredients melt pleasingly in the mouth and combine with the wafer well. The wafer is surprisingly nice, it adds a lovely crisp, crunchy texture and I thought it worked. It is a light easy to eat bar which I enjoyed, and I feel it is a nice addition to the range. People who like their wafers, for example MilkyWay Crisp Rolls or Kinder Bueno bars, will like this as a tasty alternative to the ones already available.

However there is something that bugs me about this bar. If you do any digging on the internet into Mars UK's reasons for releasing this bar you will find it is to have a lower calorie chocolate available. I have problems understanding this, the packaging proudly states 94 kcal, but this is per stick. Obviously there are two sticks within the pack so that makes a total of 188 kcal per pack. I don’t think 188 kcal is particularly low, for example you can eat a packet of Quavers crisps AND a bar of Blue Riband chocolate for less calories (186 kcal).

Neither Quavers or Blue Riband market themselves particularly as being low fat! Remember also that KitKat has 107 kcal per TWIN pack, which is substantially less also.

In conclusion it is a nice bar and does have less calories than a regular Twix, but isn’t what I would call a guilt free treat especially if you intend to eat both sticks – and let’s be honest who has enough self control to only eat one!?!

Twix Pods (Cybercandy)

This is another purchase from that lovely import shop Cybercandy. It is the first time that I have seen the product ‘Pods’ which look like a shell of biscuit with a filling. I’m pretty sure I saw some other varieties other than those filled with Twix as I was leaving (I will check next time I’m in).
The biscuit shell reminds me of a Cornetto case, it’s not a light wafer or biscuit, but it is very similar to the thicker and more flavoursome wafer you get on the expensive ice cream cones. When you bite in, this shells is thin but crunchy, with the flavour of Demerara sugar, and it melts pleasantly in the mouth. The caramel inside the pod, is exactly as you would find on a Twix, fairly thick but full of flavour, and then the milk chocolate layer brings it all together. Each biscuit is smaller than I imagined from the packet, and as such each one only takes a second or two to eat, making them dangerously moreish!

Twix PB [Peanut Butter] (Cybercandy)

For those of you following my Twitter adventures this week, you will know I’ve been in London. What trip to London is complete for a Foodstuff Finder without going to Cybercandy in Covent Garden, which is filled with all sorts of interesting chocolates and candies.
The first thing I picked up in the shop was this Twix Peanut Butter, which I have been desperate to get my hands on since I first heard that it had been released in The States. It consists of a dark cookie base, topped in peanut butter and coated in milk chocolate.
I absolutely loved this bar. The dark base is soft, but full of cocoa flavour. The peanut butter is very smooth and creamy, and adds that wonderful nutty salty taste I so love, and the milk chocolate flavour pulls it all together. In one word – fantastic!!! Why do chocolate manufactures think that all the chocolate and peanut butter lovers live only in the USA?
