Cookie Dough M&Ms (Morrisons) By @Cinabar

Cookie Dough M&Ms

Today is a bit of a special day. Something genuinely rare has happened, I’ve found a new flavour of M&Ms.

I’ve always found the British range a bit frustrating. We get very few limited editions, while social media is full of all the wild flavours available elsewhere. So seeing something new land in a standard UK supermarket feels like a bit of a win. This time it’s Cookie Dough M&Ms. The bag is a lovely pink colour and, honestly, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in.

Opening them up, they look pretty familiar at first glance. Bright, colourful shells as expected, though they do seem slightly rounder than the usual varieties. Texture-wise, they’re a great mix. You get the crisp shell, then a layer of chocolate, and finally a soft cookie dough centre.

Flavour-wise, they lean sweet and creamy, with a hint of vanilla alongside plenty of chocolate. They’re very easy to eat, maybe a bit too easy. I definitely found myself reaching for more than I meant to.

Overall, these are a solid addition to the UK M&Ms line-up. It’s hard to imagine anyone disliking them if you’ve got a sweet tooth. A very moreish treat.

M&Ms Brownie Milkshake (Corner Shop) By @Cinabar

M&Ms Brownie Milkshake

When I picked up this milkshake in a local corner shop, all I could think was that it was a very specific flavour choice. This is not just a brownie milkshake, it is an M&Ms Brownie Milkshake. For me, if I were to buy an M&Ms brownie, the key thing about the M&Ms in a cake would be the texture from the shell and the dots of colour throughout. As neither of those things translate into a milkshake, I have to admit I was a bit curious about what I had purchased. All the same, it was a warm day and I fancied a cool chocolate milkshake.

I followed the instructions on the pack and gave it a good shake before opening it. I took a sip and have to admit there was more to the flavour than just chocolate. It did have a cake-like taste. I do not think I would have guessed M&Ms specifically, but the flavour was nice. The thickness of the shake is about right, not too runny but easy enough to drink through the lid. I liked the drink; it was a nice cool chocolate treat. I think the specific flavour notes were hard to pin down, but I still enjoyed it.

In other news, the shake also had 10 grams of protein, which is good for anyone building muscle.

M&M’s Choco Eggs (Asda) By @Cinabar

M&M’s Choco Eggs

Here we have one of M&M’s Easter snacks for this year: M&M’s Choco Eggs. These are much bigger than regular M&Ms but still a bit too small to hide for an Easter egg hunt. I might be wrong, but I’d never find them! Luckily for me, I’m eating these straight from the bag.

Once opened, I noticed that they were individually wrapped and looked very pretty. All of them were labelled "crispy," and I wasn’t sure if there were supposed to be different varieties, but that’s what was inside. When I unwrapped one, I found a chocolate egg with a patterned surface. I took a bite and discovered mini M&Ms inside a lovely chocolate shell with a satisfying crunch.

Even though I wouldn’t use them for an egg hunt, they’d make a nice treat to bring along when visiting family—like a stocking filler, but for Easter!

M&Ms Crispy Santa Bar (Tesco) By @Cinabar

M&Ms Crispy Santa Bar (Tesco)

With Halloween behind us and the first snow of the season dusting the ground, it feels like the perfect time to dive into some festive treats. While I’m not quite ready to put up the Christmas tree, I’m more than happy to unwrap and taste test this adorable M&Ms Crispy Santa Bar. I picked up this little delight from Tesco, where it was proudly displayed on a seasonal stand, clearly signalling the shift into Christmas mode. Back home, it made the perfect mid-afternoon snack.

M&Ms Crispy Santa Bar (Tesco)

The bar itself is a compact, mini treat, ideal for a quick festive indulgence. It’s shaped like one of the M&Ms characters sporting a Santa hat, which adds to its charm. Beneath the smooth milk chocolate shell lies a sweet, vanilla-flavoured truffle filling. Hidden within that are crunchy, brightly coloured mini M&Ms Crispy pieces, adding a delightful texture and festive flair.

The combination works wonderfully, the creamy truffle, crunchy M&Ms, and rich milk chocolate all coming together in a satisfyingly festive bite. Cute, delicious, and just the right size, this treat is a definite win in my book.

I’m already excited to hunt down more Christmas snacks to review. It feels like the festive season is officially here!

Cookies With Chocolate M&M’s Minis (Tesco) By @Cinabar

Cookies With Chocolate M&M’s Minis

When I first saw that there were the new Mini M&Ms available, I thought that they would be really good for baking. They are the kind of size that would work well as a cup cake topping or indeed baked into cookies. Obviously I ate the bag of Mini M&Ms straight, in handfuls. Thankfully, they have pre-made the Mini M&Ms Cookies for me, so no baking is required and there is no temptation to eat them straight.

I opened up the packet and found that these Cookies With Chocolate M&M’s Minis were quite chunky, and they were colourful too. I could see the colourful Mini M&M’s shinning through. The taste was lovely. These are firm, crunchy cookies (rather than the American soft style), but the texture still works. The M&Ms are crispy and add a lovely chocolate taste. These are super nice biscuits. They are effectively a chocolate chip cookie, really with a bit of candy shell, but with the the colour they do look a bit more special. These were the perfect treat with my cup of tea, and yes, I dunked. The chocolates melted a bit too when I did, which really worked for me too.

Chocolate M&Ms Minis (Asda) By @Cinabar

Chocolate M&Ms Minis

I regularly complain about the lack of new M&Ms in the UK, mainly because I'm very jealous of the flavours that get released around the world and miss us out. But here we have a completely new UK-based M&Ms product; obviously, it is just chocolate flavour, but I’ve started to realise you have to take the wins where you can get them. These are Chocolate M&Ms Minis, regular chocolate M&Ms but shrunk in size. I poured some out, and the child in me felt like a giant. The chocolates were tiny; they did have the M logo on them, but it was small and a bit feint in places, but it was there.

I grabbed a few and ate them; there was something very fun about the texture and the size. They are nice to munch on, and as there is more crunchy shell per chocolate, they were somehow crispier. The flavour was also more sweet as there was sugar in the coating, which made it tasty too.

I think these Chocolate M&Ms Minis would be perfect for baking projects; just imagine how nice these would be in chocolate chip cookies. If the sun ever turns up, these would be a nice topping on ice cream too. A sprinkle of these on some vanilla ice cream sounds a bit like recreating one of the fast food restaurant ice cream sides. Or, you can do what I did, which was just scoff them watching Wimbledon; that works too.

Mocha Mudcake M&Ms (B&M) By @Cinabar

Mocha Mudcake M&Ms

I was in B&M, and I saw a new M&Ms flavour, and I was super excited. There was this fab bag of Mocha Mudcake M&Ms on the shelf. In other countries, there are many different limited edition versions of M&Ms, but in the UK, we get very few, if any. So this was exciting, until I turned the bag over and realised they too were an import. They were made in Australia. Oh well, at least some of the flavours from abroad are making their way to the UK shelves, even if they weren’t intended to be sold here.

I opened up the bag and had a look at the M&Ms. They look like most of the other varieties I’ve seen; they are the usual prime colours, and they looked bright. There wasn’t much aroma, but they are covered in a hard candy shell, so it wasn’t that surprising.

I gave one a try, and the texture was the first thing I noticed. The filling was almost like that of a toffee; it was firm and chewy. The taste was good; they were rich and chocolatey, and there was a good tone of coffee running through them too. I had another, then another, and then I remembered that M&Ms always catch me like this. They are tasty and easy to eat, and I ate far more than I intended. Chocolate and coffee are one of my favourite combinations, and these Mocha Mudcake M&Ms chocolates were just my kind of thing. I’m going to need another bag.

White Chocolate M&Ms (Candy Mail) By @SpectreUK

White Chocolate M&Ms

I honestly don't think I've had M&Ms since the Nineties. I tried a peanut M&M from a friend back then and decided I'd never to have another. So White Chocolate M&Ms are a surprise to me. Cinabar bought them for me to try considering my love for most things white chocolate. I'm going to try them with my favourite white hot chocolate drink and probably a white chocolate bar or two on the side. I've run out of low calorie pots of ice cream for now. I seem to have one most nights with something or other.

White Chocolate M&Ms

As you can see from the photograph on opening the bag of these White Chocolate M&Ms there were quite a few colours of coated white chocolate sweets. These M&Ms had a decent crunch and then had a creamy white chocolate inside. I'd have these again. They were very creamy and tasty. They made me feel young and I guess that's what sweets are all about for us older folk. Besides they went rather well with my white hot chocolate drink and Milky Bar too.

Information on the packet; The 42g bag contains 210 calories, with 6g of fat, 28g of sugar, and 40mg of sodium. Please see photograph for the ingredients.

M&Ms Cookie Chocolate Bar (Ocado) By @Cinabar

M&Ms Cookie Chocolate Bar

I am a big fan of M&Ms (particularly all the crazy flavours they get abroad eg Bubblegum) so I was quite excited to see this chocolate M&Ms Cookie Bar. I thought for a minute the bar was going to have mini M&Ms filled with cookie filling mixed in with the milk chocolate, but as cookie M&Ms aren’t available in the UK I was wrong to be so optimistic. This bar is a milk chocolate base with milk chocolate mini M&Ms and separate cookie pieces all mixed in, it still sounded good. I took the chocolate bar out of the wrapper and did smile, the bar is very pretty and has an M&M character moulded into the chocolate. There were also plenty of colourful M&Ms inside the chocolate.

M&Ms Cookie Chocolate Bar

I gave the chocolate a taste and as someone who loves texture I found this brilliant to munch, the M&Ms were crunchy and the biscuit a little softer. I was impressed by how much the biscuit flavour shone through into the chocolate, they had a nice baked biscuit flavour. Between the cookie taste and the crunch this M&Ms Cookie Bar was very easy to snack on and one I’ll buy again. Crunchiness in a creamy smooth sweet milk chocolate, perfect for a Friday night treat.

Bubble Gum Flavour Hubba Bubba M&Ms (GB Gifts) By @Cinabar

Bubble Gum Flavour Hubba Bubba M&Ms

My usual thinking is that America gets all the best and most unusual M&M flavours. It is undeniable the States have an amazing selection but these crazy sounding Bubble Gum Flavour Hubba Bubba M&Ms actually originated in Australia, though they were bought at an import shop in the UK.

The flavour sounds like it shouldn’t work but also sounded so unusual I had to try them. This is bubble gum flavoured chocolate in a shell, madness right? I poured some of the Bubble Gum Flavour Hubba Bubba M&Ms out of the bag and they are in three colours, blue, pink and white but all have the same contents. I gave one a try and I got a flavour of traditional bubble gum and chocolate all mixed together. My taste buds were confused, the two flavours do not naturally complement one another. Some how the bubblegum had a little bit of berry like flavour with the chocolate and it sort of made it work. I couldn’t decide if I liked them, but I found myself keeping eating them. I even poured out a few more. They were weird, but weirdly okay.

Bubble Gum Flavour Hubba Bubba M&Ms

I honestly think if you put together the best flavour gurus on the planet and told them to make bubble gum chocolate work they couldn’t do any better than this, it is as close to working and those flavours ever could be. That in itself is impressive but I suspect myself and most people who buy these are in it for the novelty. The Bubble Gum Flavour Hubba Bubba M&Ms were odd but tasty and did make me smile so I think that was mission complete.

M&Ms Coffee Nut (GB Gifts) By @Cinabar

M&Ms Coffee Nut

Things we don’t get enough of in the UK; 1) a variety of M&Ms flavours and 2) coffee flavoured chocolates. I purchased these imported M&Ms because it covers both of those issues all in one and both of those things are some of my favourite things. There are nuts included too in the product which is another favourite thing of mine especially with chocolate, I couldn’t wait!

This is a fairly large bag of M&Ms which were imported from the States. It says sharing size but also isn’t huge, plenty for two to share while watching Netflix though. Inside the bag the M&Ms are cream, light brown and dark brown in colour but all are the same flavour. The shells of mine were a little bit cracked in places but they have been imported from the States and then after that subjected to UK post, as I bought them imported online.

M&Ms Coffee Nut

The M&Ms are nice, there is a peanut in each one surrounded by coffee flavoured milk chocolate. The coffee is quite strong and quite decent quality of flavour, there is plenty of it but it is well balanced with the nut flavour and the chocolate. Regular readers will know that I liked varied texture in chocolate and these of course hit the nail on the head there too as the crispy shell gives way to chocolate followed by a crunchy nut, totally satisfying to eat. I feared these might have too much going on with there being three flavours but I was impressed by how well balanced they were and how well the flavours worked together. I would love it if these became main stream here in the UK, I’m certainly after finding more.

Candy Pop Popcorn M&Ms Minis (GB Gifts) By @Cinabar

Candy Pop Popcorn M&Ms Minis

Whenever there are new M&Ms to review we traditionally do them on Monday in what is known at Foodstuff Finds as M&Ms Monday. We haven’t had any new M&Ms for a bit so I was pleased to find this new bag. These aren’t quite M&Ms but they do contain them so I’m going with it. I picked up a bag of Candy Pop Popcorn M&Ms Minis from an import shop and thought the idea of popcorn flavoured with M&Ms (not M&Ms which are popcorn flavoured) sounded amazing and I couldn’t wait to get stuck in.

I poured some of the popcorn out and have to say I was rather disappointed. Yes there was plenty of milk chocolate on the popcorn but the actual M&M’s were very low in number, what a shame. I tried some popcorn and it was nice because popcorn drizzled with milk chocolate is always good. The bits with M&Ms were really nice they had added texture and colour and were fun, but there just weren’t enough of them. As this product is called Candy Pop Popcorn with M&Ms Minis there just weren’t enough of them to justify it and that is why I wouldn’t buy this again.

New UK M&Ms Brownie Edition (Co-Op) By @Cinabar

New UK M&Ms Brownie Edition

Well this doesn’t happen very often, today we have new UK M&Ms. I’m searching out the party poppers as this warrants some celebration, we don’t get many new flavours here. In the States they have regular new flavours and my very lovely American friend does kindly send me M&Ms (in return for Percy Pigs). Here M&Ms are a rare commodity and I wasn’t expecting to find these when I was doing a top up shop in the Co-Op, bread, bananas, milk and a couple of bags of the New UK Brownie M&Ms, all the essentials covered.

New UK M&Ms Brownie Edition

I poured out the M&Ms and the colours of the shells are the regular colours but they do seem a bit motley. The brownie inside the shells is showing through, I don’t think this is from the heat, but if you have tried some let me know what yours looked like. I gave one a try and was impressed with the flavour, they had a nice chocolate cake like taste with a hint of nut that worked well. t did remind me of a Brownie, there was even a little saltiness. The texture was a little firmer than a Brownie would be, almost chewy, but still nice. I’m so excited to see these New UK Brownie M&Ms and can’t wait to get another pack (when we run out of milk again).

Mint M&Ms (USA) By @Cinabar

Mint M&Ms (USA)

Time is flying at the minute, somehow we are almost in April and I think I blinked and missed some of the year. The only good thing about it is that Monday has come around again and that means time to open up some M&Ms for the very special even we call M&Ms Mondays. We have been writing about a different flavour each week, because outside of the UK there are loads of interesting ones to try! This week we have a bag of Mint M&Ms and as I have a love of peppermint I couldn’t wait to try these.

Mint M&Ms (USA)

Inside the bag the M&Ms are red, white and green and the filling is a solid peppermint flavour milk chocolate. These sweets have a good balance of flavour with plenty of chocolate and a lovely cooling kick of mint. They are very moreish. I can see that the packaging for the Mint M&Ms is christmassy but I would hope these are available all year. If I could pick one flavour that I would love the UK to release it is these ones (unless anyone has found cinnamon M&Ms anywhere). These are sweet but fresh and minty and they would bring a nice new (but still safe) flavour to the UK and really break up the stale selection we currently have.

Fudge Brownie M&Ms (USA) By @Cinabar

Fudge Brownie M&Ms (USA)

This week I am welcoming in M&Ms Monday with these American Fudge Brownie M&Ms. I think I was ranking the potential from the American M&Ms flavours in my head and in doing so I put Fudge Brownie quite low on the list. Even in the UK we get chocolate M&Ms I could work out how different these ones would be. We are quite used to getting products wrapped up as being more exciting in description than in flavour ie ‘blood orange’ is code for regular orange but probably at Halloween.

Fudge Brownie M&Ms (USA)

I poured out the Fudge Brownie M&Ms and had a look at the colours, they seem to be the regular colours although there were no green in my bag, the M&MS are fairly large too. I gave one a try and couldn’t quite believe that what I was trying was actually like eating a fudge brownie. The texture was firm and slightly gooey and moist in the middle like a proper brownie. The flavour tasted like a chocolate brownie mix i.e. a mix of cocoa dough and even a touch of salt. Heaven. I was so wrong about these being just a lacklustre variant of milk chocolate, and as a fan of texture I found myself munching through far too many of them in one sitting.

Sugar Cookie M&Ms (USA) By @Cinabar

Sugar Cookie M&Ms (USA)

As we start another week (how is in Monday again already) I am here to start on another bag of M&Ms for what we are called M&Ms Monday. This is my way of easing into the week with chocolate. We are exploring the M&Ms flavours available in the States via a gift from a friend over there, he sent an epic selection for this tour of their varieties. This week we are looking at Sugar Cookie M&Ms which are a Christmas edition. When I opened up the bag there was such a lovely aroma of vanilla. The M&Ms are in a selection of seasonal colours; red, white and green to keep with the theming.

Sugar Cookie M&Ms (USA)

Each Sugar Cookie M&M has a candy shell, then a layer of white chocolate and centre of a Sugar Cookie. The texture is rather lovely on these as the centre part is crispy but very light and I loved that light crunch especially in conjunction with the white chocolate. The flavour is mostly vanilla and sweetness but that was good too, there was nice hint of butter. If I had to guess the flavour it made me think of vanilla cake batter, but crunchy. I think it is time for the UK to catch up and introduce some exciting flavours here, we really are missing out! We have never seen a Christmas edition like these Sugar Cookie M&Ms here in the UK.

White Chocolate Peppermint M&Ms (USA) By @Cinabar

White Chocolate Peppermint M&Ms (USA)

It is Monday and that can only mean one thing, it is time for M&Ms Monday. We are currently starting each week with our exciting tour of M&Ms flavours from America, today we are taking a look at a Christmas Edition; these White Chocolate Peppermint M&Ms. We don’t do ‘peppermint bark’ in the UK but we do have mint candy cane, this is a seasonal treat in the States and peppermint seems to be linked to Christmas time there too. To be honest the timing wouldn’t make a difference for the UK as I don’t think I’ve ever seen a British version of Mint M&Ms here. We get so few flavours, it is such an opportunity lost. Thankfully though I have a friend in America who has supplied this bag, this wonderfully big bag. Sending hugs of thanks his way.

White Chocolate Peppermint M&Ms (USA)

Inside are candy cane coloured M&Ms in red and white and they look very smart. Under the shell is white chocolate infused with a hefty hit of peppermint. I loved this strong minty flavour, it was sweet and refreshing and as that melted away the creaminess of the white chocolate followed which worked very well. This change of tone in the flavour from minty fresh to soft white chocolate made them rather moreish and I had to portion myself with the large bag, they are just so good. The bag is big and I can’t wait to finish these White Chocolate Peppermint M&Ms off.

Hazelnut Spread M&Ms (USA) By @Cinabar

Hazelnut Spread M&Ms (USA)

So it might be a Monday and for me that makes it another five working days till the weekend but that is okay, because today is M&Ms Monday. I am brightening up my weeks. This is now the day of the week where I review an M&Ms flavour I haven’t tried before! I have a lovely American friend who is feeding my M&Ms habit and making this possible so sending him lots of hugs and thanks. Today’s variety is Hazelnut Spread M&Ms.

Hazelnut Spread M&Ms (USA)

The M&M colours are the regular ones in this pack with a high number of yellow. Each M&M has the crispy shell, but then a coating of milk chocolate with the spread inside. This means there isn’t that much hazelnut spread in each one and the predominant flavour is chocolate, but there is still a nice nuttiness to these with a touch of saltiness to to make it moreish.

Hazelnut Spread M&Ms (USA)

I do like interesting texture so I really like the way the shell cracks to the softer filling with these M&Ms too. As a fan of nuts and chocolate this bag of Hazelnut Spread M&Ms was gone far too quickly, but don’t worry I still have quite a few interesting supplies left to explore, more next week.

Cheesecake M&Ms (USA) By @Cinabar

Cheesecake M&Ms (USA)

I have moaned quite a bit over the years about M&Ms to some extent ignoring their British market. We get very few flavours here, and limited editions are exactly that; limited. Releasing bags of orange coloured (not flavoured) milk chocolate M&Ms at Halloween is not that exciting, not when they are eating Pumpkin Spice ones in The States. I have recently done a candy swap with a lovely American friend who blew my mind on the varieties they have over there by sending me a box full of different varieties. Oh my, I hereby declare that Mondays will now be know as M&M Mondays until such time as I work my way through the collection.

Cheesecake M&Ms (USA)

So to start us off I opened the bag of Cheesecake M&Ms, the flavour just sounds so different to anything I’ve seen before. I love cheesecake and specifically baked cheesecake is one of my favourite things so I was very excited by this. The bag smelt like baked cheesecake quite strongly and the M&Ms were in cute pastel colour shells; white, cream and pale pink. The filling is a white chocolate base and the flavour is amazing. It does taste like cheesecake, but also like it is mixed with butter icing. These are M&Ms for the sweet toothed, but I am a member of that club. I think the thing that struck me was how very addictive they are, each one gave this lovely burst of sweet creamy buttery flavour, pure yum. Can’t wait for the next instalment of M&M Mondays.
