New Chipotle Pulled Pork Pizza (@Dominos_UK) By @Cinabar
We decided to have pizza from Dominos for a quick tea. Spectre is still on crutches so a simple and tasty dinner was to be ordered. As there was a new pizza listed on their website, Chipotle Pulled Pork, it was easy to choose what to have. “New”, that’s how we roll at Foodstuff Finds.
We made no changes to the pizza, and had a medium size exactly as recommended. The pizza arrived and looked stunning, there was loads of topping. I was pleased to see plenty of vegetables too, red and green peppers, onions and sweetcorn. I love a mix of textures, and the crunchy vegetables mixed with the soft pulled pork, and the firm bread base was a texture combination mixed in heaven.
The pulled pork shone in terms of flavour too. The barbecue and tomato tastes from the meat and sauce was stunning, and I loved how the chipotle sauce added a really good burn from the chilli heat, my mouth could really feel the spicy warmth. This made the creamy garlic dip they sent heaven for dipping the crusts and cooling my mouth down.
In short this pizza was fantastic. Gorgeous spicy moist meat, plenty of fresh crunchy vegetables, and absolute treat.

Mexican Fiesta Pizza and Cinni Dippers (@Dominos_UK) By @Cinabar
Mexican Fiesta Pizza
It had been a while since we last had a Dominos pizza order, but when a new menu was pushed through the door with new goodies in it, it meant we sort of had to, for Foodstuff Finds you understand… Ok, turns out we didn’t need much arm twisting. The new Dominos pizza is called the Mexican Fiesta Pizza, and although I was a little worried that the pizza would be hot (as in spicy), we decided to try it out. The pizza comes topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, peppers, and is topped with a sour cream and paprika drizzle. The peppers are just green and red peppers, so there isn’t much heat at all, just a nice spiced flavour from the paprika. The chicken was still moist and juicy, and peppers and onions had a decent crunch and flavour. The sour cream mixed things up adding a nice cool taste too. As I’m not into all things hot, this was spot on for me. It was very flavoursome, and the mix in textures and the addiction of the chicken made it a very tasty treat.
Cinni Dippers Dessert
We had the other new item on the Dominos menu for dessert, the Cinni Dippers. From the picture online I had imagined that these Cinni Dippers would be sticks to dip, what actually arrived was a small round (pizza style) bread covered in brown sugar and cinnamon. It did have shallow cuts in order to split them into sticks, but they weren’t very even, which meant trying to share a portion was bit more awkward. We ended up pouring the icing dip over the top of the pizza and then splitting it up, this was bit sticky, but worked well. The icing stayed runny, even after we had eaten our pizza and come it a little while later. Disclaimer alert, I am a huge cinnamon fan, but these were absolute heaven! The spice was just right, flavoursome, but not hot and the icing sugar made them lovely and sweet. The bread was a nice and soft and easy to eat. This really was my perfect way to finish off a pizza meal.

Chicken Tikka Pizza (@Dominos_UK) [By @Cinabar]
Over the weekend we were thinking of ordering a takeaway. The conversation came about what to have and we settled on pizza. Little did we know that there was a new pizza on the Dominos website offering the best of the takeaways world, curry pizza! Yes this new pizza is Chicken Tikka flavoured.
The pizza is properly themed, it isn’t just a tomato sauce on top with a few bits of spicy chicken.
The base sauce is a proper Tikka flavoured one, and the toppings are; tandoori chicken, onion bhaji, tomatoes and red onions. It seemed like a nice selection of goodies and the onion bhaji pieces seemed particularly intriguing.
We choose to have the pizza delivered, which meant I got to stare at the pizza tracker intently until it arrived. I’m like a small child; calling out “it's baking!” etc. The delivery man duly came and gave us our pizza and the nachos we ordered to have on the side. I thought the pizza look nice, with a good portion of goodies on top, including plenty of chicken. The onion bhaji pieces were small.
The flavour was good, there is plenty of tomato to the base but plenty of spices too. Both the onion bhaji and the red onions give this a nice onion taste, and work really well with the spices. The chicken was moist and mildly spiced, and added to the mix of textures. I was dipping the pizza crust in the garlic dip you get with the pizza, but it would have been heaven to dip them in a themed dip such a raita. Dominos should so bring one out for this.
I’m not sure this a curry replacement by any means, but as a curry flavoured pizza you can’t go wrong. It was tasty, the spice was warming and built up as you ate giving a lovely tingle in the mouth. It is not too hot, but certainly enough for a pizza. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would order it again.

Dominos Mac N Cheese Bites and Dougnuts (@Dominos_UK) [By @Cinabar]
We decided to have a take away from Dominos and so I found myself browsing to see what new flavour pizzas they had, disappointedly I couldn’t see anything. I also spotted that the Fiesta and Rio pizza (the previous latest edition) had disappeared. This was an odd situation for me, choosing a pizza from the regular menu. I always go for the latest or special, thats kind of how my brain works and sort of why this blog was set up. Oh well, after a browse I decided on a Meateor, it looked like the perfect meat feast and circle of meat balls looked kinda cool.
When it came to side orders my Foodstuff Finds cravings were a little bit more satisfied, they have the newly listed Mac N Cheese Bites, essentially cheese macaroni in breadcrumbs with a dip! That is both suitably weird and new for me. There was also newness on the desserts menu, but I’ll come to that shortly.
There are four Mac N Cheese Bites bites in the box, served with a salsa dip. The bites are a fairly decent size and do take multiple bites to eat. I do love cheese macaroni, so I did like the flavour, and it came through well. I was a bit disappointed to find that the macaroni wasn’t really present visually when I cut one in half, I was hoping to see defined pasta shapes. The dip was good, and a nice contrast with its spicy tomato flavour, but I found I liked them without, so I could pick up on the cheesy goodness better. They were enjoyable, but I’m not sure they surpassed the garlic dough balls as a side order.
My other new find on the Sides menu were doughnuts! There were four in the box, and they were just heaven. Fluffy, coated in sugar and warm (even after all that pizza). They were just like the ones you get at the fair ground, little rings of sugary naughty yumminess.
Oh yes - and the Meateor pizza was fab, must have that again (unless there is something new of course). ;-)

Dominos Pizza Fiesta / Rio and New Nachos (@Dominos_UK) [By @Cinabar]
As we were having pizza as a bit of a treat while watching the football, it seemed appropriate to try out the Brazilian sounding new pizzas from Dominos. There are two new varieties Fiesta and Rio, and I thought we could try both so went for a half and half, where they split the pizza with two varieties.
When it arrived I could immediately see the issue with a half and half pizza, the dressing from the Fiesta was also all over the Rio. The Fiesta section (left in the photo) consists of chicken, peppers, spices and mojito dressing. I thought the heat was a nice kick, and gave a good warmth. The dressing was cooling and reminded me of mint raita, perfect for the spices and rather summery in its nature.
The Rio section wasn’t supposed to have the mojito dressing, but apart from that looked right. It had pulled beef, onions, peppers and chipotle dressing. The heat was much milder on this section, and the peppers shone through. The beef didn’t have much flavour, it just added a bit of a juicy meaty feel, but the flavour wasn’t as strong as say steak pieces would have been. The chipotle also seemed mild compared to the Fiesta. As usual with Domino all the veggies tasted fresh and slightly crunchy, which I really like, and it does give them a bit more of a premium feeling.
If I had to pick out of the two pizzas I think I would choose the Fiesta as the winner, the chicken taste was more defined and the spices had such a lovely tingle.
We also ordered a box of the new Nachos to try, which came with a choice of salsas, hot or tangy. We went for tangy, which was fresh with lots of tomato so a good choice. The nachos themselves were crunchy, and had plenty of cheese and made for a rather nice accompaniment to the pizza. You would immediately think that pizza and nachos would go together but the contrast in textures seemed to work surprisingly well.
If you are planning on watching the footie over the weekend, this certainly makes for tasty pizza to munch while you watch. I’m highly tempted to order it all again for the final! ;-)

Domino's Twisted Dough Balls: Hot Dog / Belgian Chocolate (@Dominos_UK) [By @cinabar]
This is not the first time I've seen Dough Balls on the menu at Dominos, I think they have been available for a while, but in flavours like garlic and cheese and I've only ever thought of them as a garlic bread alternative. During a recent order the new Hot Dog variety caught my eye, available with or without mustard, so I added some to our order. Then I clicked on desserts and I couldn't believe what I saw, a sweet version! The chocolate variety got added too. I don't normally get a pudding from Dominos so thought it would be a nice extra treat.
Twisted Dough Balls Hot Dog and Mustard
There are six of these in the box and each one comes with its own mini hot dog rolled in the middle and a line of yellow mustard. They do have more than a passing resemblance to mini sausage rolls, but the minute you bite in you can tell the difference. The pizza dough is soft and bread like and works well with the hot dog sausage really helping to recreate the flavours of the real thing. The mustard was tangy, but not hot so shouldn’t be too strong for anyone. We loved having these as a side dish with our pizza, they break up the meal nicely and don't contain any garlic. I always feel bad having garlic bread, particularly if I have work the next day, as the smell lingers! :-D
Twisted Dough Balls Belgian Chocolate
After we finished off our mains, we opened up the box for dessert. There are a few hybrid cakes on market at the minute, from doughnuts mixed with croissants to muffins mixed with doughnuts, it is definitely the current trend! Dominoes have gone for pizza bread mixed with chocolate, and why not. Again there were six in the pack, but a couple didn't quite look as good as the others. All the hot dog versions had a mini hot dog in them, but not all the chocolate ones appeared to have much chocolate, and when we tucked in I can confirm two had little flavour, but I'll focus on the good ones for now.
The Dough Balls were still warm, and came dusted with icing sugar. The chocolate chips were melting into the warm bread base turning them into a sticky chocolate filling, which made them even more appetising.
I was impressed that the dark chocolate chips were of a good quality and the flavour worked well. It reminded me of chocolate spread on bread, and certainly worked as a combination. As new hybrid desserts go, this'd one gets the thumbs up! It’s just a shame that a couple of them didn’t have much chocolate, I’m hoping I was just unlucky because if they can sort that out then I’ll be ordering these again.

Chimichurri with Hot Dog Stuffed Base Pizza (@Dominos_UK Dominoes) [By @cinabar]
I am totally aware that the combination of topping I had on my Domino’s pizza didn’t really match with my choice of base. I however got a little bit stuck, I was staring at the ‘new’ topping and the ‘new’ base type and just couldn’t resist combing the two ‘news’! I will however write about them separately in case you don’t follow my combination logic.
Hot Dog Base
I was quite excited to see the hot dog base, as I have seen quite a lot of mention of it in the press and been keen to try it. It’s quite impressive to look at, and the frankfurter goes all the way round pizza, except for very small gaps in between sausages. I loved the idea of this as an alternative to cheese stuffed and I can find that to be a bit of a cheese overload, even for my taste buds. I tried the base and loved the flavour of the hot dog with it, it was meaty and tasty and the flavour was full. The frankfurter was soft to eat and didn’t feel too hard going. The thing is it was tasty, but very filling. I normally have 3 slices of Domino’s pizza, but I was really struggling after 2 with this base. That’s probably a good thing as it makes the pizza go further! I was also less reliant on the dip when it came to eating the crust, as it was just so full of flavour on its own.
Chimichurri Topping
This particular pizza is topped with chicken breast, peppers and a drizzle of the green Chimichurri sauce. The sauce reminded me a little of a twist on pesto, it had a herby base flavour, but mixed in was this slight vinegar sourness that gave it a good twist. This contrasted well with the sweet tomato sauce underneath, with the two tastes giving a lovely sweet but tart flavour.
The chicken chunks were moist and the pieces were a generous size, there was also plenty of red and yellow peppers, which looked pretty and added a fresh veg flavour and a bit of texture. This was my first try of Chimichurri sauce, and it made me want to try basting some chicken in it and trying it out as a main dish.
The pizza totally got the thumbs up from me, and I hope it stays on dominos menu for a while, as it is one I’ll be ordering again.

Dominos Pizza Gourmet Special (@Dominos_UK) [By @Cinabar]
I am a big fan of Dominos pizza, and we quite often treat ourselves here at Foodstuff Finds, particularly on the Two for Tuesday deal. They have recently increased the pizza menu and added a new selection of goodies labelled under their new Gourmet range. These gourmet pizzas have thin bases and contain extra special ingredients. Thankfully they aren’t priced any higher than regular pizzas but do offer some new options. I was also pleased to see that as well as the pizza there was also a new Gourmet Garlic Bread, which we also added to our order. Here is what we tried out:

Firenze
This one was the one that appealed most to Spectre. It contains a good mix of meat and spice, two things which Spectre loves as a pizza topping. On top of the pizza there is both salami and pepperoni to add the meat feast section and also some Peruvian Roquito Peppers to mix it up a bit. Although the pizza wasn’t as hot as some of the pizzas he chooses, he did say that he felt that it had a good level of spice, and there was a nice heat in the mouth. I agreed, this pizza was plenty hot enough for me, and all the meaty flavours came though wonderfully with a slight moreish salty edge.

Florentine
The Florentine is a vegetarian option pizza topped with spinach, plum tomatoes and feta. It really does feel like having an authentic Mediterranean pizza and looks rather posh, and it is unusual to find spinach on a Dominos pizza!. The tastes worked well together, and they were delicate but flavoursome. The tomato added some sweetness, the feta was both salty and creamy and the spinach gave a nice leafy taste to balance it out. I liked the fact that you could taste all the individual ingredients and that each bite of pizza tasted different from the last. It had a good fresh feel to it, and although I do usually go for a pizza with some meat content this totally satisfied me.

Rustica
This was the prettiest looking pizza of the selection, with a good mix of colours and flavours from both veg and meat. The ingredients are chicken, bacon, baby spinach and baby plum tomatoes. The tomatoes were sweet, but a little dark in places adding a nice caramelised taste. I loved the meatiness of the chicken and bacon with its slight saltiness. The fact that it still had the fresh flavour from the spinach mixed in with all the other ingredients easily made this one my favourite. It’s a very moreish pizza with a nice selection of ingredients, and gave a proper gourmet experience.

Gourmet Garlic Bread
Sitting in the Sides section is the new garlic bread from Dominos. I quite liked the Garlic Pizza Bread, but I’d be lying if I said I got excited about the stuff. It was always decent, but nothing extra special. Well I can tell you that the new Gourmet Garlic Bread is out of this world. It is fairly big, and has a nice thin crust topped with lovely cheese, and loads of garlic flavour. The garlic bread had a firm base, but it isn’t the sort of bread that goes hard if you leave it to cool it stays lovely and soft. It’s just ticks all the boxes and will become an essential part of any of my orders from now, pure heaven!
