At 3.4% in volume Cornish Best Ale was produced by St. Austell Brewery. I was very happy to read that this beer has rye in its ingredients, as well as malted barley, oats, and hops. The oats and malted barley should give it a healthy hearty biscuit flavour, with added spice from the rye.
On opening the bottle there were lovely biscuit and toffee aromas from the reddish brown beer inside. There was a mild herbal bitterness from the hops, coupled with a good spiciness from the rye, with a little fruitiness, as well as biscuit flavours with toffee like sweetness into the aftertaste. Gorgeous, cheers.
