Gatorade & creme brûlée [@NLi10]

We were on the way to a family meal for a birthday and had to pick up some last minute bits and bobs from Sainsbury’s so I got a Gatorade to help with the heat.

This used to be a big go-to drink for me in the early 2000s but these days I just don’t see it around anymore - this was in the import aisle, but it’s the Britvic version made in Hemel Hampstead.

As a brand it’s still the number 1 sports drink, but Prime has to be almost overtaking that now.

This has things that just aren’t as fashionable anymore, sugar for one, and while it is nicely hydrating it’s veRy much a relic of the power & muscle era of sports nutrition. I think it’s been neutered to fit the sugar tax too as it just didn’t have that memorable hit.

The meal was great - no one wants to see a picture of a plate of meat so here instead is my lovely creme brûlée pudding. Like a layer of toffee apple on top. Yum!
