While lots of people out there will be on health kicks, I'm slowly getting over a particularly vicious couple of weeks of flu. So, I fancy a sweet treat tonight. Cinabar bought me this box of Christmas Festive Figgy Fudge from Waitrose just before I caught the flu off her, and was ill all of the festive season. We also had a box of this Festive Figgy Fudge in a hamper for a Christmas present, which I quickly nabbed while no one was looking, so I'm hoping I like it. I do like fig biscuits, and I love fudge. What can go wrong? Well, apart from catching the flu off Cinabar. Did I already mention that?
This Christmas Festive Figgy Fudge was made with raisins, fig purée, and mixed spices. I hope they left enough room for the fudge. On opening the packet there was a spicy fruity sweet aroma and a little fudge. It smelt like Christmas Pudding with a touch of fudge. I thought about breaking open another tub of Brandy Cream. On taste, oh my, it tastes really good. It tastes like a waiter carrying a tray of Christmas Puddings crashed into a waitress carrying a fudge cake and they found a room. Oh, yes, this Christmas Festive Figgy Fudge is one to definitely pick up before it disappears off the shelves.
