I am starting to get confused with Munchies. On my last supermarket trip I picked up a bag labelled “new” in the Vanilla Cheesecake flavour. When I got home I realised we had actually written about them last August, so not new at all.
This time I made a point of looking for something I had not tried before and spotted these Munchies Fudgey Salted Caramel. No “new” flag on the bag, but definitely new to me.
As soon as I opened them the aroma hit me. A deep caramel and chocolate scent that felt properly indulgent and made it hard to wait. Each Munchie is a milk chocolate shell with a crisp biscuit centre, surrounded by a salted caramel fudge layer. The salt is stronger than I expected, but it works. The contrast between the rich sweetness of the caramel and chocolate and that sharp salty edge makes them seriously moreish.
It is a full on sweet and savoury combination that keeps you reaching back into the bag. I have no idea how long these have been around, but I would happily “accidentally” buy them again.
