Cadbury Dairy Milk Mystery Bar 01 (Tesco) By @Cinabar

Cadbury Dairy Milk Mystery Bar 01

UPDATE - The Answer from Cadbury is: RHUBARB & CUSTARD

Who doesn’t love a mystery flavour of a product? There are a few around at the minute and I quite enjoy trying to guess, even if it is a bit of a novelty by the company. There are two bars from Cadbury at the minute. This one is Cadbury Dairy Milk Mystery Bar 01.

I unwrapped the bar and at first was a little disappointed about, there was no clue from the design of the chocolate bar, it was just a very standard looking pieces. Inside was a white creme filling. Again no clue. There also wasn’t much of a scent either, so it was time to tuck in.

The flavour of the filling is sweet, and it is fruity. It was also annoyingly familiar and I couldn’t quite work out from where. To try and narrow down the fruit, I first thought berry, but the more I tasted it more the I’d guess cherry. There was something else there too, an almost nutty flavour in the background. Could it be Bakewell Tart? I think that is my best guess, but I don’t think it is my final guess. At some point, I’m going to eat something in the next month and I think it will then click. Have you tried Cadbury Dairy Milk Mystery Bar 01? What do you think?

These are absolutely rank!!! I thought raspberry for the "fruity" one. My other half thought blueberry.
Is there such a thing as a sh*berry? 😉

Bar 1 tastes like turkish delight to me

I thought cherry, maybe cherry nougat
The other one was very pineapple/tropical to me….maybe….I think 😬

I think it tastes like that ruby chocolate

Raspberry and hazelnut is my guess. I like it 🤣

I've tried both and disliked both. Nasty fake sweet taste that has no obvious flavour. I won't be buying again.

At first I tasted a sort of peach with a hint of some sort of nut. I definitely thought that the taste was familiar, but couldn’t place it. After reading the comments, I think that the best guess I’ve seen is Turkish delight.

Just tried 02, and was certain that it is some sort of berry. At first I thought it was definitely raspberry, but now I’m having second thoughts, as it didn’t have the sour taste of raspberries. Now I’m thinking blueberry, but I’m not too sure as I have only tried blueberries a few times. If I had to have a final guess, it would probably be blueberry.

I think 01 is peach and hazelnut, and 02 is blueberry.

Tried both and couldn't care less. Both disgusting and won't be buying again.

For me it is 10000% reminiscent of Raspberry Screwball Ice-cream. That's my associated taste.

Reminded me of a ruffle bar

I think No.1 might be cherry & almond? Maybe cherry bakewell. I really like it.
No.2 reminds me of raspberry coconut ruffle bars, without the texture. Not fussed I have to say.

Mystery bar 1. Drumstick squashems

Definitely tastes like a Jamie dodger to me. Glad I’m not the only one

Anonymous said...

I reckon they’re reminding you of the old Wonkalate bars - purple coloured chocolate, little bits of candy

Bar 1 reminds me of the Raspberry Ruffles chocolate so maybe raspberry and coconut. Bar 2 tastes like Turkish Delight but they already do an actual Turkish delight bar. So something like rose and apple? Or apple blossom?

My daughter and I bought both 1 and 2, were tried 1 first and I could only think that I'd been sucking on a sweaty sock! Absolutely rank went straight in the bin lol
We're too nervous now to try number 2!

Raspberry and white chocolate 🙄

Definitely like some of the suggestions, I too thought it was hazelnut and raspberry like another commenter but also I would understand the Turkish delight as it does have a after taste of it but also the cherry idea also comes through. Bake well tart and Victoria sponge could also be it! Weird but not too bad.

Mystery 02 is bannan 100%

My brother bought me mystery bar 1 and mystery bar 2 for my birthday, first I knew of such a mystery chocolate bar! I've only opened bar 1 so far and I can't figure it out. it is weird tastes of not very much, just a mild flavour like diluted turkish delight.

1 tastes like peach melba to me

We’ve had this now in FoodStuffFinds household number 2 and I’d have never have guessed that lol
