Independence Pale Ale (Morrisons) By @SpectreUK

Independence Pale Ale

I honestly don't understand what's going on in America. The news seems to be becoming more and more unhinged everyday. I try to keep politics out of the blog. Let's face it, fundamentally this is a food and drink blog. But, come on…

Anyway, this Independence is a U.S Pale Ale. So, you can see why America is on my mind, just like many other people avidly watching what craziness is going to happen next. We did have a clownish faze with Boris Johnson a while back, but that didn't appear dangerous, just absurd.

Produced by the Bristol Beer Factory, Independence was double-dry hopped with Citra, Mosiac and Nugget hops, with malted barley and wheat. This 4.6% in volume pale ale is gluten free and Vegan friendly.

On opening the can there was a mixed citrus and herbal bitterness, with added spiciness, and sweet pale malts and wheat at the back of the aroma. This deep golden American Pale Ale had a crisp citrus and herbal bitterness to begin with, followed closely by sweet malted barley and a little wheat. Independence washed my home cooked fish and chip dinner down a treat. Cheers.
