G Mochi Ice Cream - Pistachio version [@NLi10]

 I’d seen luxury versions of these in the Asian shops, and then Aldi had a suspiciously similar version for much cheaper - win!

These are pre-packaged little rice balls with ice-cream in the middle and not much else 

And you get 6 in a box, but each portion really is one unless you are having a big pudding.

They look quite mumified when frozen

But soon perk up at room temperature and in the heatwave didn’t melt until required.

And biting causes them to squish!

The outside is standard rice ball, and the inside is luxury pistachio ice cream and it works surprisingly well if you like slimy things.

Green luxury puddings for all, hurray!

Mochi - Tiramisu & Creme from Royal Family [@NLi10]

 My nan loves a Tiramisu - I love weird snacks - this seemed like a decent combo.  But would it freak out a 99 year old to eat rice-balls?

They certainly look quite fluffy and fun

And while they are very exotic, they definitely only contain things she already likes.

They are individually sealed which I heartily approve of, less messy.

I wonder if the V means veggie - they do kind of look veggie from the ingredients.

And it was very easy to convince her that they are essentially 'Japanese marshmallows' but a bit heavier and with an odd texture 

They are pretty sticky inside - it took a chewing but she liked it - and kept one to eat later.

I was also a big fan of these - 12 in a pack (for £2.50) is a lot of one flavour - but they certainly will get finished.  I've promised a trip to the big store that has these to someone, so maybe I'll get to try more of them.

Kokoro Wolverhampton - Delicious Korean-Style Food [@NLi10]

 I eat in Wolverhampton after work quite often - but we tend to go for big meals not snacks so have avoided Kokoro until now.  We didn't know they had a seating area upstairs either which helps. 

They are a franchised out Korean style food place, that makes to-go food ready for quick gettaways, but also nourishing food bowls for those of us willing to wait.

Some of these take-away options looked ace.

My colleague went for the Katsu - which was a pretty generous portion but the chicken was pre-prepared

My Beef thing had to be made fresh - guess it's less popular.  I wanted something 'not spicy' but I think the KimChi rice (£1.50 extra) added the spice back in.  At a level that was great for me though

The Mogu Mogu grape drink was more than enough to quench this and at £1.90 was premium but not import tax prices.  

A great mix of flavours, and veggies, and the rice was not boring (hooray!) so we will be visiting again.

And as they have veggie things my partner is excited, and they will deliver to Nannas house too.

Naked Japanese Style Katsu Curry Rice (@Nli10)

 What do you do for lunch when it's too hot to go out to the shop? Get Naked!

Luckily that's a capital N there and i'm just talking about the snack brand.  Here we have a Katsu 'style' pot of stuff.

The sneaky fluffy rice that is almost like rice crispies.  Interesting tech.

Soon looks normal with water

And 5 mins later looks (and smells) like food!  And granted - this isn't a luxury lunch - it's rather homogeneous but the Katsu flavour is good, and it did fill me up (but maybe less so than the Huel grains).

Not one to rush out and buy again, but a plesant enough option to have stashed away for a rainy (or heatwave) day.

Naked Japanese Style Katsu Curry Long Grain Rice (@NLi10)

Naked do lots of great instant snacks for when I need a quick and decent sized lunch.  I'm just not used to them not being noodles.  This looks like a noodle pot, but it's a (BIG) rice pot.  So what's inside?

 Wet rice of course!  Smells fantastic - not quite perfect Katsu, but you aren't going to get a rich gravy just by pouring a kettle into a (reduced) plastic tub.

It does make up nicely though - I expected it to not quite work, but the rice was fluffy but still had bite, and the sauce was sticky enough that I could eat it with a fork like a heathen.

It's also fairly clear what's in it from the ingredients - a little curry and a little garlic - and a whole lot of great rice.  It filled me up for the day quite nicely and while relatively unexciting is definitely something I'd pick up again for the emergency cupboard.
