Debut Beer India Pale Ale (The Wee Beer Shop @WeeBeerShop) By @SpectreUK

Debut is Triple Point Brewing's India Pale Ale

I had a weird dream the other night. I was walking along in the pitch dark, I knew I was supposed to be going to some play or other. I finally found a lit window in the distance. It was out of reach, but after making quite a racket the people who were obviously having some sort of party inside managed to hear me. Once inside a cousin I haven't seen for years comes up to me handing me sheets of paper saying, "have you read the Pipeline?" I flicked through the sheets and I came across a story that was about my nightmares of the past, but he shouted, "no, no, not that, the Pipeline, the Pipeline!" And snatched the pages off me to look for it urgently. The moment he found the story, he passed me the sheets of paper and before I could look, my alarm went off and I woke up.

It was such a vivid dream, the only thing I could find online was called 'The Parable of the Pipeline', by Burke Hedges and Steve Price, loosely translated from a useful search engine, the Pipeline suggests, "You must be focused on what you want, invest time and effort, willingness to take risk, the desire to learn and do whatever it takes to reach your dreams as tomorrow's dreams are built on today's sacrifices." Okay, so it sounds a little like a really long Fortune Cookie.

A couple of days later after yet another long day at work whilst my crappy work laptop rebooted itself for the twelfth time that day, I decided to do something about it. Now I'm not saying the dream was a premonition, but after one crappy work experience after another crappy work experience over many many years, I've finally decided to set up my own business and start working for myself.

All this time this beer has been staring at me at the front of my beer fridge screaming, "drink me" from one guy at the Wee Beer Shop who went into business for himself to someone who is just looking at starting out. The definition of Debut is "a person's first appearance or performance in a particular capacity or role." At 5.5% in volume, Debut is Triple Point Brewing's first India Pale Ale, and it was packed with five different hops, which were; Chinook, Cryo, Mosiac, Centennial, Admiral and Cryo Simco. This vegan friendly beer is suitable for people who are intolerant to gluten. I reckon I'm intolerant to working for other people, so this beer may suit me right down to the ground.

On opening the can there was a citrus, floral and herbal hoppy aroma mixed with the sweet pale malts. On taste this light golden IPA had a sharp crisp bite from the hops that made me wish for summer sunshine sitting in the garden with a good book one lazy afternoon. The bitter warming hops washing around my mouth made me think of a light breeze and hazy clouds dancing in the blue sky. Refreshing to the max, Debut packed an immediate punch of a keen mixture of citrus, tropical fruits, floral and herbal hops with a touch of pine, and a little warming spices bashing into each other threatening to cut my tongue, and then those sweet pale malts dragged my tastebuds back to the ground to relax at the end of every mouthful. Joyous. Let's hope all Debuts are this good.
