When I saw these new M&Ms in Pound World I couldn’t help but have that sinking feeling. That realisation that here in the UK we miss out on all the interesting M&M flavours. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I feel obliged to mention it again, briefly. Across America there are various limited editions varieties from Cafe Mocha to Strawberry Shortcake M&Ms (which are out in the States for Valentines). Here in the UK limited edition equates to green and red coloured shells with a milk chocolate filling. I have never seen flavoured M&Ms in the UK, except as imports. So finding that a limited edition here in the UK is just large M&Ms, didn’t exactly make me smile. I bought them anyway, they are still a Limited Edition.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I opened the bag. I picked up the mini ruler I had acquired from a christmas cracker and wondered if I’d be bale to notice the size difference. I poured some out of the bag, and realised the ruler was unnecessary, they are huge! Big lumps of rounded chocolate covered in pretty coloured shells. They are crunchy, and satisfying to munch on, and the chocolate is pleasingly sweet. I wanted to hate these M&Ms for their lack of imagination, but I thoroughly enjoyed.
You see I do like M&Ms, and even the milk chocolate and peanut ones available here are a good snack, its just that I want more. I like the Mega version, but please can we have some exciting flavours for the UK market.
