Quilmes Beer (@Quilmes_Cerveza) By @SpectreUK

Quilmes Beer (Quilmes_Cerveza)

I was given this beer with a few other bottles as a Christmas beverage box of exported beers. Quilmes is brewed in Argentina. At 4.9% in volume, Quilmes is a lager beer named after the city in Greater Buenos Aires. Wikipedia tells me that the original Cervecería y Maltería Quilmes drinks company was founded in 1890 by Otto Bemberg, a German immigrant. Since 2002 the company has been owned by AmBev, which is the largest brewer in the world.

On opening the 330ml bottle this bright golden beer has a light hoppy smell to it, with a sweet malt aroma to finish. On taste this cheerfully fizzy lager beer has a crisp sharp herbal and citrus hops combined initial bitterness, which is quickly smoothed out by the sweet malts. This is a very flavoursome lager, not too fizzy, and it went rather well with my tomato and rather posh pretentious sounding venison ravioli. I'd recommend you try it, the beer of course, well and the pasta, but I don't think Cinabar's mom will make the sauce from scratch and cook it for everyone. Sorry about that, as it was rather good!
