Coronation Chicken Scotch Egg (Marks and Spencer) By @Cinabar

Coronation Chicken Scotch Egg (Marks and Spencer)

We were talking about picnic food and realised we hadn’t had Scotch Eggs for a long time. Although we weren’t technically going on a picnic I thought I pick some up from Marks and Spencers when I found these new Coronation Chicken Scotch Eggs, I thought they sounded different and couldn’t wait to give them a try. We were prepared for our picnic at home.

I opened up the pack and there was lovely aroma of spices the minute the wrapper loosened. Once the egg was cut in half you could see the the meat had a spiced yellow tinge to it. I was impressed by the flavour too, there was a nice gentle curry flavour, it was very aromatic and only mildly spiced. It worked well with chicken instead of the usual pork. The egg had picked up the seasoning too and tasted nice with a good hint of curry. This was a bit of treat and a lovely twist on a picnic classic, certainly one I’d pick up again for snacking.
