Hemisphere Session IPA @fourpurebrewing (Tesco) By @SpectreUK

Hemisphere Session IPA Four Pure Brewing

I've been putting off this Hemisphere Session IPA. Not that I think it will taste bad. It's because it was created by Fourpure Brewing Company, in London, and was inspired by adventure. The back of this 4.2% volume India Pale Ale's can recommends being open to exploration to find a fresh perspective, and to share your stories over a Hemisphere Session IPA. Well, I guess it wasn't expecting a global pandemic putting a spanner in the works for exploring new and interesting places!

So you see I was putting off drinking and writing about this beer until we could actually do some adventuring of our own. Although the vaccine rollout has been well managed here in the UK, there are rising cases again. There are those people who are waiting for their turns for vaccinations and those that do not wish to be vaccinated for whatever their reasons. I was hoping for some time away somewhere as we used to do at this time of year, but we're still fairly locked down.

Anyway, on opening this Hemisphere Session IPA there was a crisp herbal hoppy aroma dominating over the sweet pale malts. This sunshine golden IPA pours with an excitable head. On taste I would agree with the tropical citrus flavours mentioned on the can, however there is a stronger bitterness from the hops than the can suggests, and then the sweet malts poke through smoothing out into the aftertaste.

This Hemisphere Session IPA is definitely a refreshing India Pale Ale. It's sunny outside, and this is a beer to be enjoyed on a beach or in the garden with a cool breeze and a good book, or however many friends we're allowed over to share stories of past adventures and those to come in brighter less restricted times. Those times will come soon I'm sure… ;-)
