I left this this Kit Kat from the Chocolatory: The Mixologist collection for a while after having last tried the Whisky and Ginger bar and frankly being rather unimpressed. These are expensive bars and not something you want to spend that much money on to find out you are not actually a fan in the first place.
I actually ended up watching an episode of the Hairy Bikers making chocolate and really started to want something with chocolate to nibble while it was on, this was still on the kitchen table so I decided to finally open it up.
The bar itself is an odd looking thing. There are bright green streaks in the chocolate across the top and the bottom is covered in bright green crystals, I have to say it wasn’t that appealing. Only vegetable really look good when it comes to green foods but I was in desperate times.
All was forgiven in the flavour though, this Chocolatory Kit Kat Zingtastic Gin and Tonic bar was out this world, it really was. Little piece of magic to taste. The chocolate had a lovely hit of gin and tonic and the bar itself had a wonderful lime flavour running throughout it too. The crystals added a fun crunch and sharpness with the sweet chocolate it was a delight to eat. This was a lovely fresh flavour, something different, something that just worked. I’d happily buy this again, well maybe at the price they are happily is the wrong word but you know what I mean.
