Instant coffee may have just hit a new level of luxury. I spotted this box of Kenco Bailey’s Latte and thought it would make a nice treat while working from home. I should point out there is no alcohol in it. It just has the flavour of Bailey’s with the coffee. I boiled the kettle and poured the contents of the sachet into a mug. There was a fair bit of powder. Thankfully, the powder mixed up really well with the water. There were no lumps even after a short stir. The drink smelled amazing too while I was mixing it up, rich, creamy and very tempting. I was looking forward to my cuppa.
I gave the drink a sip and have to admit the aroma had got my hopes up and the taste didn’t quite meet expectations. The drink wasn’t quite as nice as the smell had been, the flavour was like artificial Irish cream. The twist of flavour was okay and the coffee with it was fine. All in all, this Kenco Bailey’s Latte made an okay cup of coffee. I will finish off the box quite happily, but I can’t say I’d be bothered about buying another box. I had a lot of hope for this drink and, sadly, it didn’t quite hit its luxury potential.
