Halloween Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (Krispy Kreme) By @SpectreUK

Happy Halloween, Everyone! It's that spooky time of year when even friendly Krispy Kreme doughnuts can get pretty scary. They've brought out three special doughnuts to mark the season. A Frankenstein's Monster doughnut, a Vimto Scary Eye doughnut, and an orange flavoured pumpkin doughnut, which for reasons unbeknownst to me is not flavoured with pumpkin. Cinabar bought me two doughnuts whilst she was at the shops, and the same one's for herself and her mom. They'd run out of the orange flavoured pumpkin doughnut, which is just as well, been as though you may have experienced a rant about how good pumpkins taste, and how countless millions are wasted every year when they taste spicy and go great with just about anything from flavouring coffee, cakes, soup and pumpkin flavoured beer… Oh, I'm ranting… anyway moving on… ;-p

Frankenstein's Monster Doughnut
As you can see from the photograph this Frankenstein's monster is a ring doughnut. Of course in Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein was the creator and the monster wondered off before he could name him. This doughnut looks pretty freaky with black biscuit bit crumbs for its hair and goggly eyes in the green coloured face. I'm glad they flavoured the green icing with apple rather than guacamole or Gremlin. There is a taste of sweet apple in the green icing, and the usual sweet and creamy taste that goes with a ring Krispy Kreme doughnut. Overall this Frankenstein's Monster doughnut was very tasty indeed and probably did me for a pudding, but Cinabar had the whip out for a longer Halloween blog, so…

Vimto Scary Eye Doughnut
This is essentially a special edition Vimto ring doughnut, which is out until January, but with a flat sugar icing eye covering the centre. It's reminiscent of the huge many-armed purple one-eyed monsters from the old video games that floated around a room trying to kill you with magic attacks and a multitude of tickle sticks (may have made that bit up). Okay, so this Vimto Scary Eye Doughnut doesn't have many arms, which is probably not a bad thing as it would be pretty difficult to get it in your mouth, especially if it was trying to stop you from eating it at the time (or tickle you)! I ate the scary icing eye first. The purple doughnut wasn't so scary without it. The doughnut had purple coloured Vimto flavoured icing, which did taste exactly like Vimto. It was really tasty and very fruity. It was the favourite of the two for everyone in the room, especially when all the scary eyes had been eaten and weren't staring at us anymore!

Happy Halloween… here's hoping lots of things go bump in the night, well, until you go to bed and have sweet dreams! Bwhuh… hah… hah… haaaaaah!
