Today I needed a bit of a chocolatey treat and spotted these Fox’s Chocolatey Hazelnut Creations in the supermarket. I do like to dunk biscuits, which is more awkward with the ones fully covered in chocolate, but not impossible. Here we have a shortcake biscuit topped with a hazelnut flavour creme, milk chocolate, and a dark chocolate drizzle. The interesting word in that description is ‘flavoured’ as in hazelnut-flavoured, as I couldn’t see hazelnut listed in the ingredients. Presumably, this avoids allergens in the factory.
The chocolate is a nice thickness, and there is a lovely crunch from the biscuit. The hazelnut flavour is good; I’m not sure how I feel about it knowing it is artificial, but I can’t say I disliked it. The creme element also adds a softness to the texture, which works well. As always with posh biscuits, I’d hoped they had been bigger in the pack, but they are an indulgent treat with plenty of chocolate. I liked these Fox’s Chocolatey Hazelnut Creations, and they were a good afternoon pick-me-up, dunked or undunked.
