Magnum Minis – Crème Brulee (Sainsburys) [By @cinabar]

The other week I reviewed the Meringue et Fruits Magnum, and liked it so much I added the Crème Brulee Magnums to my recent online grocery order. Mr Sainsbury made the delivery and I couldn’t wait to try the new ice creams. In this hot but wet, muggy weather I am drinking a lot more to keep myself hydrated and eating more ice cream than usual to cool down. Both the drinks section and ice cream section are really coming along at the moment here at Foodstuff Finds, so do take a look.
The Crème Brulee Magnum is in the new range of “Kisses” with this one being labelled “First Kiss”. The chocolate exterior is a lovely thick and sumptuous milk chocolate which gives way to a generous layer of caramel sauce and custard flavoured ice cream. I do like the custard taste, it’s creamy and rich but is broken up by the strong smoky flavour of burnt sugar.
Mixed into the ice cream are loads of these burnt sugar crystals that add a little darkness to the taste and bit of crunch to the texture. With the addition of the caramel sauce the flavour is just sweet, tasty and indulgent.
If you are a lover of caramel flavours, Magnum have managed to capture the very best of them with this new chocolaty treat. As I have a sweet tooth, this Magnum actually became favourite so far, which is impressive as I loved the meringue one! There is only one thing for it, next week’s Sainsburys order is going to have to include another flavour!

I am a massive caramel fan, although I was worried to try due to their calorie to size ratio (I'd probably have to have two at once knowing me). However your description of custard ice cream has got me craving these so probably pick a few up. Thanks for the great recommendation, I'll let you know how i get on.

I have to confess I just bought a box of the Tiramisu version can't wait to try them - but the Creme Brulee are going to be hard to beat.
