I have to stop buying hot chocolate. I have to stop buying hot chocolate. Folks, I have a problem. I am almost embarrassed by the number of hot chocolates I have at home (there are tins stacked on tins), and for reasons I do not understand, these Belgian Coffee Hot Chocolate Stirrers still ended up in my basket. The best solution I have is to make them and drink them, thus getting rid of this particular piece of evidence.
I heated some milk in a mug in the microwave and dunked the Belgian Coffee Hot Chocolate Stirrer in. I gave it a stir, and the milk was going chocolatey, but the stirrer was mostly in tact. My word, the stirrer took a long time to dissolve. I ended up leaving it for a few minutes, then stirring again, and eventually it went for it.
The drink is very chocolatey once it does dissolve. The chocolate is sweet and rich and very indulgent, and I was impressed that the milk seemed a bit thicker too. The coffee adds a lovely, rich, dark tone to the flavour and works well. It wasn’t too strong, but it added lovely depth. I would buy these again, but I probably shouldn’t, not till I’ve worked through all the tubs of flavoured hot chocolate still in the cupboard!
