Walkers Sensation - Mexican Smoked Chilli Coated Peanuts (Tesco) [by @NLi10]

Walkers Sensation - Mexican Smoked Chilli Coated Peanuts (Tesco) [by @NLi10]

It seems that Walkers quite like this flavour combination and it's shown up in a variety of guises over the years.  We got given a pack of what must have been sweet chilli coated peanuts at the good food show and my partner spotted these in Tesco, and we generally presumed that they were the same thing and grabbed a bag on the way to the cinema.

We were wrong.  Where as the ones we originally tried were nice but nothing special these were a lot more interesting.

The first taste from these is a light citric tang which is sharp, but short.  This is then replaced by a chilli burn that isn't too hot but is noticeably warm.  Finally the smokiness of the flavours comes through and leaves you with a lovely aftertaste.  These are some rather good peanuts!  I always thought that the Koh-Kae peanuts couldn't be beat (and for sheer addictiveness they may never be) but the flavours of these were so wonderful that I had to keep the bag just to make sure that I got around to writing them up!

As with all Walkers peanuts the nuts themselves are of a good quality and may indeed be the source of that final smokiness.  I intend to buy many bags of these for future cinema and work sessions.
