Walkers Christmas Ultimate Roast Potato Crisps (Tesco) By @Cinabar

Walkers Christmas Ultimate Roast Potato Crisps

This new bag of crisps does raise some questions. Firstly why do the limited edition flavours from Walkers only have 5 bags of crisps and not the usual 6 in the multipack. Is that a thing now that we loose a bag if it is a special variety, or are they just cutting back all over and it is creeping in? Secondly, and not price related, why would you choose to make a potato crisp potato flavoured? Still happy to give them a try obviously (if I’m honest I used to love jacket potato and butter flavour crisps that Seabrook did briefly and before them Marks and Spencer).

So I tried some of these crisps with lunch, I poured them out of the bag and they are sprinkled with a few herbs. I gave a crisp a try and as much as it was inoffensive it wasn’t very exciting. It tasted of potato, and herbs like a dash of sage with a pinch of salt, and not that much like a roast potato. There wasn’t even oozing amounts of butter flavour to make me feel better. These were pleasant, non offensive but won’t be back next year crisps. Don’t worry though Walkers saved up all the imagination for their other Christmas edition this year, Mince Pie flavour. Keep your eyes peeled, we have a bag in the cupboard and the review will be coming shortly.
