Cadbury Darkmilk Giant Buttons (Asda) By @Cinabar

Cadbury Darkmilk Giant Buttons

Cadbury have recently launched their new Cadbury Darkmilk variant, it is between milk and dark chocolate, or brand specifically between Dairymilk and Bournville. I like all types of chocolate, no surprises there, it just depends on my mood, as it happens I had a fancy for some dark chocolate while watching the TV. I opened up the bag and was pleased to see that these were nice giant buttons and that they were in plentiful supply. The size was larger than regular buttons and they did look like substantial discs of chocolate. The aroma was nice and rich and I tasted my first one.
The first thing I noticed was the texture, the chocolate looks quite dark and subconsciously I had expected it to be firm and when I bit into the chocolate I found it to be quite soft, like a milk chocolate, which was fine just not what I had expected. The flavour was good though, rich with a creamy aftertaste. The cocoa is stronger than milk chocolate, but this still manages to have a smooth finish which works well. I’m happy with this new in-between chocolate, it is easy to eat and the buttons disappeared far too quickly. Really, I thought there was loads in the bag and yet we munched our way through the lot. Oops. I wonder when Cadbury will bring out a Ruby chocolate too, that must be on their to do list?
