Coronation Ale (Sainsbury’s) By @SpectreUK

Coronation Ale (Sainsbury’s)

It's that time already, after a long reign Queen Elisabeth has passed the Crown of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth to King Charles the Third. Sainsbury's have brought out this Coronation Ale to celebrate. It was the Coronation today, so what better day to drink a pint to our new king. There will be plenty of street parties, snacks and drinks flowing freely as people celebrate all over the UK, the Commonwealth and the world too.

At 7% in volume Coronation Ale was made with British Sovereign and also Endeavour hops. Crystal and Chocolate malts we're used in the brewing to produce a toasted biscuit flavour to this deep brown in colour ale. On opening the bottle there was definitely an aroma of toasted biscuit with floral and herbal notes from the hops. There was malty goodness on first taste, with sweetness from the malts and a hint of roasted chocolate to add to the biscuit flavour. This was closely followed by a floral and herbal bitterness from the hops, and a little malty sweetness into the aftertaste. A gorgeous beer fit to celebrate our new king. Cheers.
