Salted Caramel Fudge Poppets (WH Smiths) By @Cinabar

I needed chocolate after a long commute. It was one of those days where my walk to the train station was greeted by torrential rain, and even with a raincoat, I arrived rain soaked. Then there was the points failure at the station, joy. So I got to my home station, wandered into the shop, and picked up a bag of Poppets and some Revels, they were two for £5. When did grab bags get so pricey?

After I had dried off at home, I opened up the Salted Caramel Fudge Poppets and gave them a try. The texture is that of a firm fudge. The flavour, well, they are sweet! They seem sweeter than regular fudge and have a lovely, strong hit of caramel, sweetness, and salt. The first one felt a bit overpowering with the flavours, but the more I tried, the more delicious they became. I was pretty hooked, and I finished half the bag warming up with a hot drink. These Salted Caramel Fudge Poppets were the perfect soothing treat after a long day. It's been too long since I last had Poppets.
