At 5.6% in volume this Mexican Style Lager was produced by Otherworld Brewing. Yeast was used that originated from Mexico City, and corn for a dryer finish. Lagered for six weeks, this menacing beer has Hallertau Mittelfruh hops, which is described as the king of German hops and has hints of sage, rosemary, lavender and pine, and also added in the brewing was New Zealand Motueka hops for a taste of lemon and lime.
On opening this freaky creepy can there was a sharp lemon and lime, as well as floral smell from the murky golden contents, with the sweetness of malts at the back of the aroma. On taste this Mexican Style Lager had a sharp cutting lemon and lime citrus flavour to begin with, followed by a more floral and woody crispy taste. The flavours of the bitter hops then moved into the sweetness of malted barley into the aftertaste. I really enjoyed this Mexican Style Lager washing down my fish, chips and battered sausage takeaway for dinner.
