I wrote about the Spicy version Coca-Cola Signature Mixers a week or so ago and I’m pleased to say I have now found the other interesting flavours. I really enjoyed the warmth from the Spicy drink so was intrigued to find out what the Smoky Coca-Cola Signature Mixer had to offer. The bottle is capped with a brown lid and the label states that the tasting notes include ‘oak extract’. I uncapped the very traditional bottle and poured my drink into a glass and took it through to the living room. The aroma from it was very woody, and the taste too. I got up and went back to the kitchen to check I had opened the correct bottle, I was convinced I had uncapped the ‘Woody’ edition instead of the ‘Smoky’ but the bottle had been the correct latter flavour.
The drink smells like Coca-Cola but with an earthy woody twist. The flavour too was earthy but admittedly there is more of a smoky twist in the taste. The drink is still very much the traditional Coca-Cola taste, just with some lovely extra tones to the flavour that makes it feel very grown up. I like the oak taste and smokiness, but out of the two I’ve tried the Spicy still has the upper hand. I would love a big bottle of the Spicy version, that drink was lovely and warming. As much as I liked this Smoky drink I would still have labelled this drink as ‘Woody’, as I have a bottle of the proper Woody Coca-Cola Signature Mixer still to open I am intrigued to find out what that tastes like too, hopefully it is noticeably different!
